Are JWs pretentious?

i recall an incident walking with a wt higher up in which a small child stood in a pile of dog poop!.

i saw this individual outa the corner of their eye spot the child and make a 'quick step' along the line of others children with a clean pair of squeaky heels!!.

maybe many adults would have done the same?.

They are pretentious, pompous, arrogant, and addleminded. depending on the time of day, and who is around them. Once I took a lady I knew to a meeting. She was afraid to go alone and felt that if she could go with me she could appease her study conductor. So off we went to the KH off of Marconi and Business 80 in Sacramento. After the meeting, she told me how pleasant everyone seemed to be and that she would be considering coming to our church from now on since we had nice fruits....As we rose to go outside, this fatass middleaged woman was blocking the aisle with her fat ass of course. In a very sweet tone my friend asked her to excuse her so she could pass. She moved about 1/4 of an inch. Never even made eye contact with her. I then said, "Sister ecuse us please." Nothing, just another 1/4 inch move. So my friend touched her shoulder and asked her if we could pass and she hollered at her....HOW MUCH ROOM DO YOU NEED???!!!

My friend never returned and now I am glad I did not try to convince her to go again....

Are brothers discouraged from using props in talks?

a few years ago in my old hall, it was common to see brothers use props in their talks, whether it was a public talk or during one of the theo.

school talks.. now, noone uses props.. just one of the many things gone by the wayside that used to make talks more interesting..

Tired of the Hypocrisy

They are discouraged from thinking for themselves and from deviating from the script...so I am assuming there are no props allowed except for maybe a look on their face like that of a mindless lemming

not me personally, but my brother-in-law was to give a talk and wasn't completely prepared.

his talk wasn't long enough.. the elder took him to the back room and belittled him to the point where he cried.

i guess this is what they mean by.

Not me, my sister tho. The service overlord kept nagging us to go with him in the field. well, my dad had a bad heart and was disabled, my mom was disabled from a work injury, me and my sibs were ok, but I had just had a bad back injury so we more or less begged off. He kept nagging and the more you nag my family, the more we ignore you.....So when we finally told him how sick or injured we were he said that we were a regular JOB FAMILY. My sis went home and cried.....I just called him eliphaz.

What's with Ex-Jw's who join another religion? Fool me Twice????

sorry no offense but why do some ex-witnesses here join another group....we have a muslim {muhamed was given a koran by an angel in a cave?

}....we have some baptists etc......i researched the bible and found there are 1,000's of gospels not part of the bible...so what's the deal...."fool me once shame on you..fool me twice shame on me" or do you have a reason for continued belief in religion...i really wan't to know since iam agnostic and don't believe in god or evolution????

I can speak for myself. I believe that some people really do believe in a God. They are trying to find out about Him/Her and try to serve. My folks left a pentecostal church to join the jw's. I was raised in the jw religion and I am fading away. I am not sure if I will attend another church or not. I am tending to be sort of bad.

Should I attend a Lord's Evening Meal at local Kingdom Hall?

i am not a jehovah's witness but have been talking with a few jehovah's witnesses for about two months now, about once every week or every other week.

on saturday they came and we had 'bible study' (actually starting to go through what does the bible really teach?

), and as they left they gave us a list of their meeting times at the local congregation and invited us to observe the lord's evening meal with them on march 22.

Can unleavened bread be purchased somewhere? What regulations as regarding the wine? I'll be reading

The wine as far as I know is simple red wine. It is not fortified or watered down.

Nope, but again I have my wife's family to remind me of how awful it has been. Like Yumby I was never accepted, really accepted. I could read at a bs, or swab out the john at an assembly. Thing is I never even considered "reaching out for priveleges". I felt like crap at school because I was one of TWO witness kids there. I felt crummy around the jw's, social gathwerings were weird. So, no I don't miss a thing about it......

I couldn't care less. I never liked Prince....ever. He sucks and his music sucks and I hope he dies and goes to hell and that Satan pokes him with his pitchfork in his stupid ass. LOL Sorry I just never got a chance to say that before.....(Stolen from Celebrity Deathmatch). But seriously, I never liked what passed for a human being- Prince. I doubt I would care about the New and Improved Bionic-Prince. Or the artist formerly known as a jw doosh.......

I think the Book says God brought Noah the critters. I think He would have selected the healthiest specimens. I think that disease bacteria could have been present on the ark, but controlled. I think that bacteria exist to make us stronger by attacking our bodies, we are forced to fight them off. I think! I THINK! I THINK!!

Feels good to think for myself and not worry about what some illconceived body of elders might say or do to me or my family.........

Recurring nightmares of getting busted by elders, anyone???

the last week or so, i've had recurring dreams of elders coming after either me or my wife (who is still a believer).

for example, i dreamt elders were accusing us of being apostates and were demanding a meeting with us.

they were citing lack of regular meeting attendance as the reason for their suspicions.

I never have had an elder in any of my dreams....good or nightmarish ones. Then I never gave two shits for what the elders say. Sure I tried to accomodate their requests and be a reasonable guy, but I never sweated telling them no or to even get the FU** outta my place when they were being too much......
